Ep062: Join us at our new podcast!
Hello Good Ancestors!
It’s me, your host, Laya Saad! And I am back with some really exciting news.
We have a new digital home and a new podcast! But let me back track for a moment to give you some context and let you know what’s happening.
The last time you heard from us was in December 2021, when we shared two amazing end of year bonus episodes that charted the incredible conversations that I had had with BIPOC guests last year. It was so wonderful to listen back to these conversations full of love, joy, hope, truth, and courage. And it reminded me that the work we are doing here is so important for nourishing and sustaining long-term liberatory work.
At the end of 2021 I made a crucial decision that I know will change the rest of my life. I decided it was time for me to step into greater leadership with my work. I am evolving and expanding beyond antiracism, and towards healing and liberation work.
Over the last three months, I increased the size of my team from 3 to 10 members. I’m proud to say our team is predominantly women of colour. And I decided to launch our new digital home - becomeagoodancestor.com.
Become A Good Ancestor is a community where change-seekers learn to become a force for good, in honour of those who came before them and in service of those who come after they’re gone.
Our new digital home hosts the brand new Become A Good Ancestor Podcast and Book Club. And soon, we’ll be offering workshops and courses to support you in your mission to become a good ancestor.
What does that mean for this podcast?
This podcast, the original Good Ancestor Podcast, with over 60 episodes of deep-diving conversations with BIPOC authors, activists, and advocates, can still be found at LaylaFSaad.com. This podcast will now serve as an archive of the incredible conversations I got to have between 2019-2021.
On our new site, you’ll find the new podcast, Become A Good Ancestor - which has monthly episodes with BIPOC authors who are also featured in our book club. I want to take a moment to shout out my new podcast producer Hannah Pillow and her amazing team at WildFire Purpose Podcast Productions. Hosting a podcast can be a full-time job. I am so grateful to Hannah for helping us not only produce the new podcast, but also make it better than ever.
